Men's Health

If you’re ready to live a happy, healthy life, Aetna Better Health is here to help.

Start with preventive health care. Remember to eat nutritious foods, be active, maintain a healthy weight, not smoke and drink alcohol in moderation (if at all).

Regular checkups are also key to staying healthy. No matter how old you are, talk to your doctor if you have any symptoms or aren’t feeling well.

There are tests to screen for certain diseases like cancer and heart disease. Talk to your doctor about your risk factors for these diseases. Risk factors include things like your family history and your daily lifestyle habits. Your doctor can help decide if you should be tested earlier than the recommended age.

And remember, there are still immunizations that you need to receive:

  • Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td) or Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine is needed every 10 years.
  • Shingles vaccine (for anyone over 60) is needed once even if you have had shingles.
  • Pneumonia vaccine, for most people, is needed only once.
  • Get the Influenza vaccine (flu shot) every year, particularly if you have a chronic disease.
