A dentist is a type of provider who treats your teeth and gums.

Dental services are provided by LIBERTY Dental Plan, which works with many dentists in your neighborhood. You can contact them at (866) 674-0982 (TTY: 1-877-855-8039.) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Or you can call Aetna Better Health Member Services at 1-855-456-9126.

Liberty Dental Plan| Find a Dentist

 Your dental coverage includes:

• 1 exam and cleaning every 6 months
• Diagnostic X‑rays
• Restorative dentistry (fillings)

When medically necessary:

• Oral surgery
• Root Canals (pre‑authorization is required)
• Crowns and Dentures (pre‑authorization is required)

Before seeing a specialist, you will need a referral from a general dentist.

Dental Benefit Update

Starting January 31, 2024, Aetna Better Health of New York will be covering crowns and root canals in certain circumstances so that you can keep more natural teeth.

In addition, replacement dentures and implants will only need a recommendation from your dentist to determine if they are necessary.  This will make it easier for you to access these dental services.
