It’s important to us that you get the care you need when you need it. We set standards for our doctors and other health care professionals to schedule appointments within the following time frames:

What are Essential Providers?

Aetna Better Health of Florida recognizes that certain providers are statewide resources. These providers are important to all managed care plans across the state of Florida. We refer to these providers as essential providers. Statewide essential providers include:
1. Faculty plans of Florida medical schools
2. Regional perinatal intensive care centers
3. Hospitals licensed as specialty children’s hospitals
4. Accredited and integrated systems serving medically complex children (s. 409.975(1)(b), F.S.).
