How do I change my Primary Care Provider (PCP)?

Your PCP is an important part of your health care team. We want you and your doctor to work together.

You may want to change your PCP for the following reasons:

  • You want a male or a female doctor.
  • You want a doctor who speaks your language.
  • You’ve found a doctor in our network that’s closer to your home.

If you want to choose or change your PCP to another doctor in our provider network, call Member Services toll-free at 1-800-566-6444, TTY 711. In most cases, the PCP change will happen on the same day as your request. You’ll get a new Aetna Better Health of Missouri ID card with the name of your new PCP.

You can find a list of services that do and do not need pre-authorization in your Member Handbook.

Aetna Better Health of Missouri members do not have co-payments.

Some MO HealthNet for Kids members may pay premiums. Premiums are a monthly payment for health insurance based on eligibility group. If you have questions, call Member Services at 1-800-566-6444.

If you get a bill, call the provider’s office. Give the staff your information. If you keep getting a bill, call Member Services for help at 1-800-566-6444, TTY 711.

You can view and print your ID card through your Member Portal. Or, you can call Member Services at 1-800-566-6444, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Central Time.

If you haven’t already registered for the Member Portal, now is the time.

  • Login to the Member Portal with your username and password.
  • Your username and password are case-sensitive.

Can I access the Member Portal for my dependents without having to login individually?
Yes, but you must register each one separately first. Then, you can link them all together.

Specialists are providers who treat special types of conditions. Your Primary Care Provider (PCP) can refer you to a specialist in the Aetna Better Health of Missouri network.
