Information about Aetna Better Health of Missouri

Thank you for your dedication and commitment in caring for the healthcare needs of our Aetna Better Health Missouri children and families for the past 22 years. Aetna Better Health of Missouri's contract with the State of Missouri ended on April 30, 2017. All Aetna Better Health of Missouri members have been transitioned to a new Managed Care Organization (MCO) as of May 1, 2017. Questions regarding the new Missouri Medicaid Managed Care Contracts should be directed to MO HealthNet at 1-573-526-4274.

Aetna Better Health will continue to process claims with dates of service prior to May 1, 2017 in accordance with Aetna Better Health of Missouri's contract with MO HealthNet and provider contractual agreements through April 30, 2018.

Please contact our Claims Inquiry Claims Research (CICR) team at 1-800-566-6444, and select the option for Claim Inquiry/Claim Research to speak with a representative. Our CICR team will assist providers with the following through April 30, 2018:

  • Claim Processing inquiries
  • Claims Payment issues
  • Remittance advice questions
  • Reconsideration requests
  • Check Tracer requests

Providers should submit all claims via EDI using Aetna Better Health Payor ID or the mailing address for all claims with dates of service thru April 30, 2017, in accordance with provider contractual agreements for timely claim submission.

Provider demographic changes which are not related to claims payment will not be accepted or processed after April 1, 2017. Aetna Better Health will continue to accept provider demographic changes through April 30, 2018 related to:

  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Federal Tax ID (FTIN)
  • Change in Legal Owner of FTIN
  • Pay To Address

Aetna Better Health will continue to process provider complaints and appeals in accordance with current processes and timeframes. Valid appeals will be limited to claims with dates of service prior to May 1, 2017. Providers should follow the current process for submitting appeals.
