Your Healthy Food Card is handled through InComm. Just call your case manager or Member Services at1-800-279-1878, and they’ll let you know if you’re eligible. If so, they’ll request a card for you. It should arrive within seven to 10 business days.

Once you get your card in the mail, be sure to sign the back and activate it. You can activate it in one of two ways:

Each month, we'll add $50 to your card. You can use it to buy healthy groceries and save money.

Commonly asked questions

Your card can help you make better food choices. You can use it to buy many kinds of foods that meet your nutritional needs. These include:

 

  • Fresh or canned fruits and vegetables
  • Frozen produce and meals
  • Fresh salad kits
  • Dairy products
  • Meat and seafood
  • Beans and legumes
  • Pantry staples, like flour, sugar, and spices
  • Healthy grains, like bread, cereals and pasta
  • Nutritional shakes and bars
  • Soups
  • Water or vitamin-enriched water

Items you can’t buy with your Healthy Food Card include:

 

  • Non-food items
  • Alcohol or nicotine products
  • Pet food
  • Candy or desserts
  • Chips
  • Fresh baked goods
  • Soda
  • Prescriptions

If you’re not sure if an item in your cart is covered, you can:

 

Go to the member portal to check.

You can use your Healthy Food Card at hundreds of stores in Virginia. This includes stores like CVS, Walmart®, Food Lion, Kroger and more. The member portal also has a store lookup tool, so it’s easy to find stores near you. 

 

You'll also be able to use the healthy food card online at walmart.com.

Just log in to the member portal. You can see your current balance, previous transactions, eligible items, and use the store lookup tool.
