What medications are covered under my plan?

We cover the medications listed on our preferred drug list (PDL) at no extra cost to you. You can download our PDL. Or check it out online. If your medicine isn’t listed, then you can:

  • Ask your provider to recommend a similar medication that is on the list
  • Fill out an Aetna Better Health of Illinois prior authorization form so you can apply to get coverage for the medicine — you can ask your provider for the form or call the Pharmacy Prior Authorization department at 1-866-329-4701 (TTY: 711)

Did you pay for the cost of a prescription medication out of pocket? If yes, we can pay you back. Just fill out a prescription reimbursement form (PDF). Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and claims will be subject to limitations, exclusions and provisions of the plan.

Where can I fill my prescriptions?

We keep health care close to home. You can fill your prescriptions at any pharmacy in our network.

If you take a maintenance medicine for an ongoing health condition, you can have it mailed to your home. We work with CVS Caremark® to give you this service at no extra cost. You can expect each order to be checked for safety. And you can speak with a pharmacist anytime on the phone.

You’ll just need the following information:

  • Plan member ID card

  • Mailing address, including ZIP code

  • Doctor’s first and last name and phone number

  • A list of your allergies and other health conditions

  • Your original prescription from your doctor (if you have it)
