Support for food and healthy eating
Some members struggle with not having enough food. Or they’re unable to cook or shop for meals due to a medical condition. For those eligible, we offer food and nutrition service programs at no extra cost. From home-delivered meals – to vouchers for buying fruits and veggies – you can learn more about the benefits.

Eating well is essential for staying healthy. Learn more about these food and nutrition service programs that you may be eligible for. If eligible, you can use most programs for up to 6 months (or longer, if you have an approved medical need).
Healthy meal delivery
Get two meals each day with delivery to your home.
Healthy food pack
Choose from a mix of healthy foods and get weekly delivery to your home.
Produce prescription
Receive a voucher to use toward buying fresh fruits and vegetables.
How to qualify
You may be eligible for any of these programs if you have a medical condition that makes it challenging for you to:
- Get enough food when you need it
- Shop for and cook healthy meals
What else you’d need to qualify

To qualify for this meal program, you must also:
- Live in Regions 7, 8, 9 or 10:
- Region 7:
- Clinton, Eaton and Ingham county
- Region 8:
- Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph and Branch county
- Region 9:
- Livingston, Jackson, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Lenawee and Monroe county
- Region 10:
- Oakland, Macomb and Wayne county
- Have a medical condition that can be improved with a healthy diet, such as:
- High blood pressure, diabetes, gestational diabetes and other high-risk perinatal conditions, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure (CHF), sickle cell disease, renal disease, cancer with malnutrition or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- Have been in a hospital or skilled nursing facility within the last 60 days
- Live in Regions 7, 8, 9 or 10:

To qualify for these meal programs, you must fit into one or more of these groups:
- Live in regions 7, 8, 9 or 10
- Region 7:
- Clinton, Eaton and Ingham county
- Region 8:
- Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph and Branch county
- Region 9:
- Livingston, Jackson, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Lenawee and Monroe county
- Region 10:
- Oakland, Macomb and Wayne county
- Have a medical condition that can be improved with a healthy diet, such as:
- High blood pressure, diabetes, malnutrition, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure (CHF), sickle cell disease, renal disease, cancer with malnutrition or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- Have been in a hospital or skilled nursing facility within the last 60 days
- Are pregnant and currently have, have a history of or are at risk of at least one of these conditions:
- High-risk pregnancy
- Delivery or birth complications, including: gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, newborn low birth weight, hyperemesis gravidarum and other causes of dehydration, maternal low birth rate of fewer than 2,500 grams, multiple pregnancy and malnutrition
- Used to be in foster care and has a nutrition-sensitive condition
- Are a child who has too much lead in their blood or has childhood obesity
- Are a child eligible for the Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) program
- Live in regions 7, 8, 9 or 10
