Science of Hope

By sharing the gift of hope, we can help members set and achieve goals that’ll move them toward well-being. We do this by working with providers and community partners to bring the Science of Hope to our members.

What is the Science of Hope?

Hope means believing the future can be better and knowing you can take action to make it happen. This simple framework has life-changing impacts in all aspects of life. It's built on three action-based steps that focus on:

  1. Setting meaningful goals that are valued and intentional.
  2. Finding pathways or plans to achieve set goals.
  3. Being willing, motivated and inspired to focus on goals and make use of pathways.

How can hope help you?

Having hope can benefit you in more ways than one. Here are a few:

  • High hope is the strongest marker of well-being.
  • Hope is a thought process that can boost your mindset.
  • Hope is within everyone’s reach, regardless of age, race, background or gender.
  • Those with high hope go through less pain, anxiety and depression, and respond better to medical treatment.
  • Higher hope leads to better outcomes in all areas of life, like career and school success, sports and overall wellness.
