Here are some examples of how we’ve helped West Virginia communities:
- Partnered with Marshall Health in the development of a community health worker program to help members with conditions like asthma, diabetes, substance abuse and childhood obesity
- Sponsored a second Bonnie’s Bus to help women get mammograms
- Sponsored fully equipped mobile wellness units to bring care into rural communities
- Funded mobile dental clinic to provide services in hard-to-reach rural areas
- Purchased retinal cameras for diabetic eye exams
- Developed a Community Resource Center to address needs of the community
- Provided funding to expand the HealthRight Clinic in Charleston
- Assisted with re-opening a rural hospital in the Williamson region
- Partnered with Community Care (a federally qualified health center) to enhance services at school-based locations
- Sponsored joint project to establish telemedicine tools in all school-based clinics

- Provided start-up funding for the Food is Medicine food pantry project
- Took part in the 16-week farm to table FARMacy program
- Provided financial support for community center to expand distribution of food products and hygiene supplies
- Funded re-opening and maintenance of a homeless adult/warming shelter in Morgantown
- Contributed to Facing Hunger Educational Kitchen with programs focused on medical conditions like diabetes or heart disease

- Developed Crisis Call Center, including five child psychiatrists who provide services by telemedicine across the state
- Sponsored several behavioral health facilities and programs to expand access to mental health services throughout the state
- Provided 1,681 ONEbox Narcan overdose kits for use across the state
- Expanded the Learning Enriched Autism Program (LEAP) to serve adolescent males who have significant behavioral health challenges and autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Expanded Lily’s Place to enhance the rooming-in experience for parents and provide transitional housing to allow mothers and children to stay together

- Sponsored new emergency shelter for youth with specialized needs
- Created campaign to recruit new foster homes
- Funded purchase of age-appropriate essential needs kits for foster children
- Partnered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters to engage and mentor children in the foster care system
- Funded Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program
- Sponsored 11th and 12th graders to earn credits toward an associate degree at Fairmont State University

- Established scholarship fund for St. Mary’s Nursing School and expanded classroom size to allow for more students
- Sponsored state-of-the-art learning facility at Charleston Area Medical Center for use by health care professionals and learners throughout the state
- Provided start-up funding to establish a masters level therapist program at West Virginia Wesleyan
- Expanded Children with Serious Emotional Disorder (CSED) providers statewide
