New affordable health coverage

On January 12, 2016, Governor John Bel Edwards signed an executive order to expand Medicaid in Louisiana. This Expansion will make Medicaid available to Louisiana adults who don’t currently qualify for Medicaid and can’t afford private health insurance. It will affect many Louisianans who works in industries like food service and construction. They will now be able to get the regular and preventive primary care.

Healthy Louisiana, formerly Bayou Health, will now offer full Medicaid coverage to adults without children and many others. Aetna Better Health of Louisiana is one of the health plans available for Healthy Louisiana.
